Strong identification - Raising the assurance level for CSC's services

Using strong identification means that you prove your identity. After you have been authenticated using a strong authentication method, your assurance level is raised from low to medium. Some of CSC's services require a higher level of assurance.

To raise the assurance level, you need to login to our customer portal MyCSC and download the Candour ID app.

Please follow our instructions precisely. The identity vetting service provider is Candour Ltd.

  1. Login to MyCSC.
  2. Download Candour ID app from App Store or Google Play.
  3. Make sure you have your passport with you. Make sure your passport is NFC enabled.
  4. Go to MyCSC Profile page.
  5. On the bottom right you'll find a box for LEVEL OF IDENTITY ASSURANCE.
  6. Click on the Raise identity assurance level.
  7. The pop-up window will tell you everything that is needed to continue.
  8. Read and accept the Candour Privacy notice.
  9. Click Start process.
  10. Please go through the following steps slowly and with patience.
  11. Your browser is redirected to Keep the Candour web page open during the following process.
  12. Note: The first QR code which is displayed on the Candour web page is leading you to the App Store or Google Play. Do not scan this QR code with the Candour ID mobile app.
  13. On the Candour web page: Accept the Terms of Service and click on the BLUE button labeled "Candour ID installed".
  14. Take your phone and scan the QR code with the Candour ID mobile app and follow the instructions the app is giving you.
  15. The app says: CSC- Tieteen tietotekniikan keskus Oy has invited you to verify your identity.
  16. The app is guiding you to take a picture of your passport and to read the chip on your passport. Make sure your passport is NFC enabled.
  17. Follow the instructions of the app until it says Success: You can now continue to your web browser that required you to complete this verification.
  18. Your browser is redirected back to MyCSC.
